US Entry Waiver

If you are inadmissible to the US because of criminal history, medical, security grounds, immigration violations, or overstaying a previous visit you must complete a US Entry Waiver application. A US Entry Waiver is a complicated process that requires experience and specialized legal expertise to successfully apply.

US waivers can be filed from any country including Canada and they allow people who have been convicted of a criminal offence, are inadmissible on medical or security grounds, to legally enter the United States and overcome their inadmissibility to the USA. US Waivers may be granted for periods for between 1-5 years, and usually can be renewed for longer periods after they expire. Inadmissibility to the United States can affect your ability to secure employment in the US, visit family and friends, go on vacation, and excludes you from trusted traveller programs like NEXUS, the Global Entry Program and the FAST pass. Applications for a US Waiver of Inadmissibility are usually processed within 6 – 12 months.

Applications must be filed in person at a port of entry.
